Hao Zhang, founder and president of the Palo Alto High School Entrepreneurship & Innovation Club,
has published a sole-author machine learning research paper through IEEE.

The paper, “The Impact of Synthetic Data Generation on Machine Learning Performance
: A Study on the Titanic Dataset,” was published in the proceedings of the 2026 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Electronics,
Energy Systems and Power Engineering (EESPE) and is now indexed in IEEE Xplore.

The study examines how synthetic data generation affects the performance of machine learning models,
including Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors, and Decision Tree.
